THE FACE OF THE VIRTUAL AND TRADITIONAL EDUCATION

Traditional and
virtual education, two modalities that have received both criticism and praise.
After the arrival of covid-19 the traditional educational modality had a
drastic change, from being face-to-face in a shared physical space-with a
student as a blank page and a teacher as a pen full of knowledge-to be
transferred to a screen, many institutions had to look for technological
alternatives to continue with the classes, but this entailed a great challenge,
considering that not all children and students in general had either
technological equipment or an internet connection, we have to recognize that traditional
education allowed every child to have more possibilities to receive an
education without major inconvenience, it allowed children to be more attentive
in class, to solve their doubts with more ease and privacy with teachers, but
now not everyone can access education and those who can, not always manage to
have a good development, Either because the student or the teacher has had
connection problems and quality study time is lost, or it has been seen that
children, knowing that everyone present in the virtual class listens to their
doubts, are afraid of being played and, say they feel intimidated. Although
virtual education also has its advantages for both, teachers and students, for
example, students have the opportunity to search for information on the web in
real time to clarify doubts or reinforce the topic being studied as well as
allowing teachers to use the web as an entertaining tool for teaching, but
there are more cons than pros.
In my opinion, neither
of the two are bad, it is only necessary to identify which archetype of person
benefits more from traditional education and which archetype of person benefits
from virtual education, as well as taking into account what resources the
students have, if their tools fit well with the usual education or its
alternative. However, it is clear that virtual education will never replace
traditional education, the importance of face-to-face school is immeasurable
because we will not only learn concepts, we will also learn to develop and live
together in society, to optimally develop our social skills and also
contributes to good physical and cognitive development.
